Article in Pediatrics 125.1: Concludes that 407 pediatricians knowledge of food allergy is fair, yet just 23% know that cheese is unsafe for those with an IgE milk allergy and most do not know the appropriate dosage of epinephrine (EpiPen) by weight. http://tinyurl.com/yf8twod.  Moral of the story: if you truly suspect that your child has a food allergy, but your pediatrician does not, see an allergist.
