New Labels
Many of you have noticed the new shelf labels, so we thought this would be a good time to explain. Every shelf label of every product in the store now bears multiple icons showing which of the most common food allergens each contains: dairy, egg, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, shell fish, tree nuts, rice and corn.
We use no peanut icon, because Free From Market is a peanut-free zone and gluten is restricted to a mere five clearly marked items. This system is in place for foods of course, but also for tooth pastes, lip balms, supplements, cleaners, etc. — all places where allergens hide. (more…)
